You are a clerk at a jungle fruit shop. Each game you receive an inventory card that everyone else can see and you cannot. Players add customer orders. If the orders exceed the shop's inventory, someone is in trouble.

Players and time

Play with 2–7 people in one browser match. Each turn lasts up to 2 minutes. If the time runs out, the top card is drawn and placed automatically. A match is a series of games and ends when any player reaches 7 or more angry points.

Setup

Everyone gets one inventory card, face out toward the other players. With 2 players, one extra inventory card is dealt to a dummy seat. Both players can see that card, and it counts when the manager checks the shop. The first player of each game moves one seat along.

On your turn

Do one of the following:

  • Draw a card. A fruit card shows two fruits, one on each side. Choose one side to place as an order. The other side is ignored. A Gorilla Sibling card lets you flip an existing order so it counts its opposite side, and the gorilla goes into the inventory.
  • Ring the bell. Call the manager to check whether orders have exceeded the inventory. Any player may ring the bell, even when it is not their turn.

When the bell is rung

Inventory cards are revealed. Gorilla effects in the inventory apply before the totals are compared.

  • If orders exceed the inventory for any fruit, the player who placed the last order receives an Angry Manager token.
  • If orders do not exceed the inventory, the player who rang the bell receives the token for a false alarm.
  • If the bell rings while someone is still placing a drawn card, that card does not count. If orders already exceed the inventory, the player holding the card receives the token.

If the order pile runs out, the manager checks anyway. When orders exceed the inventory, the player who placed the last order receives the token. Otherwise nobody does. Cards are then reshuffled for a new game.

Gorilla siblings

Three Gorilla Sibling cards are in the deck. Drawn, they flip an order. In a player's inventory, they change the count:

  • No Bananas. Banana orders are ignored.
  • No Triples. Orders that show three fruits do not count.
  • Do Nothing. No effect on the inventory.

Angry manager tokens

Tokens are numbered 1 through 7 and are given out in that order. The first mistake costs 1 point, the next costs 2, and the stakes rise each game.

End of the match

The match ends when any player has 7 or more points in Angry Manager tokens. The player with the fewest points wins.

You can see every inventory except your own. Use that to decide when an order is safe and when to ring the bell.
